A little about me
With a client-led approach, I truly focus on providing evidence-based strategies that empower individuals to not only cope with hardship, but also find avenues for personal growth based on their goals and preferences. My intention is always to create an emotionally safe, judgement-free, and endlessly supportive space for clients to share their experiences and work together to navigate life’s challenges.
I’ve worked with children, adolescents and adults in many settings, such as hospitals, schools, acute mental health settings, community mental health services and private practice. This has led me to develop a strong interest in trauma-informed care.
A background in neuropsychology has given me specialised knowledge of how brain conditions may affect an individual’s behaviour, thinking and emotions, and I am particularly interested in applying this knowledge to understand how trauma affects the brain, and therefore an individual’s internal experiences. My aim is to understand individuals and help them feel hopeful about their ability to process and work through their experiences.
My areas of interest are
- Depression and mood concerns
- Anxiety disorders including social anxiety and panic disorder
- PTSD and complex trauma
- Obsessive-compulsive disorders
- Gender dysphoria and working with the LGBTQIA+ community
- Social skills and assertiveness training
- Borderline personality disorder
- Stress and burnout
- Identity, self-esteem and culture
I work with
- Adolescents (age 13+)
- Adults
- Older adults
I use
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
- Trauma-focused CBT
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy
- Schema therapy
- Motivational interviewing
- Mindfulness-based interventions
A bit more about me
What has working in and studying psychology taught you?
The value of authentic social connection. When we are able to soften our stance and allow ourselves to be vulnerable with a trusted other, we often realise we are not alone in our experiences.
What is your self-care ritual?
Gentle physical movement (yoga and pilates), time in nature, good books, and leaning into social connections.
A fun fact about me is…
I speak 3 languages: English, Russian and Feline (thanks to my two cat tutors).
