A little about me

With many years of experience in private practice in South Africa, I have learned that the most vital element of therapy is the therapeutic relationship. Therapy allows us to explore the past, present and the future. and in order to do this, the therapeutic relationship needs to be safe and trustworthy. That’s why my approach is driven by kindness, respectful curiosity, non-judgement and warmth.

I believe that when our relationships — with ourselves or others — are well, we are well. I am passionate about helping adults understand, and ultimately change, the relationships that impact their wellness. This includes supporting individuals with challenges related to self-esteem, communication difficulties, emotional regulation, relationships, identity, and boundary setting. I also have a strong passion for working with issues related to trauma, burnout, and anxiety.

Firstly, that if people spoke to others with the same critical tone we use to speak to ourselves, none of us would have friends. Secondly, that people have an incredible capacity for resilience and self-actualisation when provided with appropriate support and belief.

What is your self-care ritual?
Moving my body, lifting heavy weights, getting into nature and spending time with friends and family!

A fun fact about me
I believe ice cream can solve anything
